Statement
Dear OGKMA Member,
I am
glad you are visiting our website. As the newly elected president and on behalf
of our executive body, I welcome and thank you for your confidence. If you are
not a member, I urge you to become one immediately! Please update your
information on the website as soon as possible.
This
organization represents Osmania, Gandhi and Kakatiya, the three active medical
schools of Hyderabad and Warangal (formerly under Osmania University and
currently under A.P. University of Health Sciences). It has over 4000
physicians in the USA - our strength is in our membership . This is one of the
oldest medical school alumni organizations and has produced several leaders of
AAPI. In recent years, however, it appears that we haven't been quite
connecting with our younger generations. Our present executive body, comprised
of young and energetic members, pledged to change this and bring new enthusiasm
and energy to our organization. I request you to become actively involved and
participate in various activities. Your participation and feedback is vital in
shaping this organization in coming years.
Our
three schools completed initial phase of their individual projects
successfully, but this leads us to the next phase of careful maintenance of
these projects. This task needs continued dedication and sacrifice. To learn
more details, please follow the links to our individual projects. Our annual
meeting in Washington , DC during Labor Day weekend was a grand success!
Highlights included a state-of-the-art CME program with eminent,
nationally-recognized speakers and a live music program - our guests included
AAPI president Dr. Vinod Shah and others.
I
would like to thank our executive committee for their hard work and
congratulate outgoing Presidents Hyma Kandula (OGKMA) and Surender Sanku (AAPI)
for a job done well. I look forward to their guidance in the coming year.
Similarly, I would like to thank many of the senior members -without their
vision and efforts, this organization would not succeed.
Our
goal is to reignite passion and energy into the membership and look forward to
work with each of you in the coming year. Thanks again and Happy Holidays.
